In recent years, Mexico has positioned itself as a key destination for nearshoring, and Campeche is no exception. With modernization projects in ports such as Isla del Carmen and Seybaplaya, this state seeks to diversify its traditionally oil-based economy and become a global logistics hub.

These improvements will allow for handling more cargo, attract foreign investment, and boost sectors such as tourism and fishing. In addition, the expansion of the Maya Train and the Interoceanic Corridor will boost commercial transport in the region, creating new business opportunities and economic development.

The key to this growth lies in increasing port infrastructure. For example, the dredging of the port of Isla del Carmen will allow it to receive vessels with greater draft, while Seybaplaya, key to the Mayan Train, will expand its capacity from 6 to 12 meters deep. Both ports are in the process of updating to receive greater commercial cargo and diversify their economic role.

Through trade missions in Asia, Campeche seeks to attract projects that expand its port capacity, with the promise of increasing cargo handling by more than 200% and vessel traffic by 126%. This strategic vision positions Campeche not only as a key player in Mexican logistics, but also in global logistics, consolidating itself as an essential point for trade and foreign investment.

This transformative approach will not only impact port infrastructure, but will also boost employment, tourism and fishing, creating an ideal environment for attracting investments worldwide. Campeche is undoubtedly building its path to becoming a global logistics benchmark.
